August 2020- Preparing for a new chapter
'Preparing for a new chapter'
One of the things God has been speaking to me about this year is to not despise the day of small beginnings, like the Bible says in Zechariah chapter 4 verse 10- 'Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.' It's August and we are still in the thick of the pandemic, but, I believe God is doing something new, and we only need to remain close to Him to see what He wants to birth in our lives.
In this edition, we are looking at the theme of 'Preparing for a new chapter'. We are very excited to interview Tola Doll Fisher as our Person of Influence. Tola has just written a book- Still standing: 100 lessons from an 'unsuccessful' life. In this interview, she shares some insight and life lessons from her book. This is definitely one of my favourite interviews so far and I encourage you to read it and follow the link to buy her book! Also, look out for an extended interview with Tola on the Reach and Inspire Podcast.
For our Workplace inspiration, we look at 'How to leave a job well'. Imagine you've been offered a new job, or you want to leave your current job to pursue other interests. How can you do that without burning bridges? Check out our Workplace inspiration to find out more.
The title of our article for the Love and Relationships section is 'Making big changes in marriage.' Big changes can impact your marriage positively or negatively, and in this article we look at some key points to remember when making big changes in your marriage.
This month on the Blog, we continue with our Single girls guide series, looking at 'Preparing for marriage'. Our guest writer, Shenai Bachu shares what she has found helpful through her own marriage experience. Take a look and share with anyone you know that could benefit from this article.
Our Bible character study looks at the life of Ruth, a Moabite woman starting a new life in Judah with her mother-in-law. What does the future hold for this young widow looking for a fresh start? Read on to find out some amazing lessons we can take away from the life of Ruth.
Finally, I am pleased to announce that on the 23rd of August, we held the first ever Inspiring Women's Online Summit, with women from all parts of the world in attendance. If you missed it, head over now to the Reach and Inspire podcast (episode 17) to listen to the audio recording. Trust me, it will be well worth your time!
The Inspiring Women's Online summit was made possible with the help of the Reach and Inspire Women’s network, an exclusive network of women passionate about Jesus and using their gifts and talents to change their world. If you would like to be part of this network, please follow the instructions on the page on how to sign up. You will receive a monthly newsletter, with further information about the network and future events, communicated via email.
The Reach and Inspire podcast is still going strong! Remember that you can listen to the podcast here on the magazine web page or on major podcast listening platforms (e.g. Spotify, iTunes, Google podcasts). Don’t forget to subscribe and share the podcast with your friends and family. I hope that you find it encouraging and inspiring.
